1995 NFL on NBC Intro (Week 8 -- New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins).wmv

(c)1995 WAVY-LIN Media Group (ID at beginning); NFL; NBC Universal Begins with WAVY-TV 10 ID (around the time that station began using the "On Your Side" branding full-time), then the NFL on NBC intro for the Miami Dolphins-New York Jets game in Week 8; marking the 2nd meeting (behind the Week 1 game) as well as the first trip to the Meadowlands since the "fake spike" game the previous season. The Dolphins were coming in off a 3-game skid after starting 4-0; while the Jets (still swooning from the fake spike) came in at 1-6 and just off an embarrasing loss to the expansion Carolina Panthers. Calling the game were Tom Hammond and Cris Collinsworth. This was an interesting assignment as Collinsworth (the #2 analyst) was teamed with Tom Hammond (usually a middle-of-the-pack guy) in lieu of usual broadcast partner Marv Albert being sent to (according to a response to a question I posed on the 506 Broadcasting Forums) the McDonald's All-American game in preparation for his lead role with the NBA on NBC. This led to Dan Hicks (better known either for golf coverage and/or being the husband of then-NBC sideline reporter Hannah Storm) getting moved up for the Oilers/Bears game with Bob Trumpy. NBC must have noticed the two gelled fairly well; considering that these two would work the early wild-card game for NBC's first three seasons with the current Sunday Night Football/Football Night in America era.
