Super Bowl - Eli Manning's Mojo and A Perfect Season After All

Super Bowl finished, confetti swept aside, perfect season completed by the New York Giants. The title of "Perfect," beaten out of the New England Patriots for 60 minutes during the Super Bowl, now rests squarely on the head of the new kings of the NFL, the New York Giants.

The game became the second highest-rated television show in United States history, second only to the final episode of MASH. MASH was a great show, but were they giving free cheese with that final episode? Hawkeye, you've still got it! It seems that MASH was the only unit that could beat Big Blue this year. Hot Lips aside, over 97,000,000 of your closest friends watched the Super Bowl with you.

If anyone would have told you a month ago that the New York Giants would blow through the playoffs, on the road, as the lowest-ranked NFC playoff team to ever make the Super Bowl, well...you would have looked at them funny and crossed the street.

The New York Giants beat down the most prolific NFL offense in history, the New England Patriots, they of the 589 points and 50 Tom Brady touchdown passes. The New York Giants defense bruised ego and body of the normally unflappable Brady, slamming cocksure into unsure.

The script, which would have been rejected by Hollywood standards as too unrealistic, featured a young Eli Manning turning his professional career around seemingly overnight, gaining confidence in a losing effort to these same New England Patriots in the last game of the season.

Unstoppable on the road this year, when the ball fell in Times Square the Giants kicked into a gear that Tampa Bay, the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers, and yes, even the New England Patriots could not endure.

Congratulations to a team that came from nowhere, NFC playoff afterbirth, to slay the best the NFL could offer. In a word...perfect.
