1997 NFL on NBC Intro (DEN vs. JAX -- 1996 AFC Divisional Playoff).wmv
(c)1997 National Football League; NBC Universal This is the intro for the 1996 AFC Divisional playoff between the #5 seeded Jacksonville Jaguars (one year removed from expansion) and the top-seeded Denver Broncos in one of the most thrilling playoff games ever (when it appeared in the NFL's Greatest Games series; it would be dubbed "Ambush at Mile High"). This is the only 1996 NFL on NBC intro I have discovered. Jacksonville would go on to win 30-27 to hand what (in the America's Game on the 1997 Denver Broncos) John Elway would consider the most frustrating loss in his career. NOTES: 1. This would be the only loss for the Denver Broncos at Mile High during the 1996 season. 2. This would (famously) be the last game that the "Orange Crush" uniforms were worn as the regular unis (Denver would switch to their current uniforms the following season; only bringing the Orange Crush version back for a 2001 Thanksgiving match with Dallas). 3. This was the final game officiated by Red "First DOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN" Cashion. ANNOUNCERS: Dick Enberg, Paul Maguire, Phil Simms SIDELINE REPORTERS: Jim Gray, Beasley Reece (normally the analyst opposite Don Criqui at this point)
