Peyton Manning came out of the University of Tennessee and immediately started paying dividends for an Indianapolis Colts team that was coming off of a lot of down years. The team didn't immediately experience massive success with Manning under the center, but they got better and better each year until they were yearly considered one of the best teams in the league. They have had seasons where they just barely made the playoffs, years where they have made deep postseason runs, and they have even had a season that ended in a Super Bowl victory.
Manning has made his name throwing touchdown passes, a lot of them. He seems to throw just as many mid range touchdown passes, ones inside the ten yard line or inside the twenty, as he does those from long range. This has been somewhat due to the amazing receivers that he has been blessed to play with. Who of those receivers has he thrown the most touchdown passes to over the course of his career though?
It should come as no surprise to many football fans, especially fans of the Colts, that Manning's favorite touchdown target over the years has been wide receiver Marvin Harrison. Harrison came into the league just two years before Manning and the two were allowed to mature and develop together until they were both considered elites at their position. During their days playing together, Manning and Harrison hooked up on 112 passing touchdowns. This is not only the most in Colts history for one quarterback - receiver duo, but the most in NFL history.
Some of the other great receivers that Manning has thrown touchdown passes to over the years include Marshall Faulk, Reggie Wayne, Ken Dilger, Joseph Addai, Pierre Garcon, Edgerrin James, and Austin Collie.
The fact that they are a great team is not Indianapolis Colts trivia, it's a fact. finding out little known information about them can be fun. You can use it to impress your friends, win bets, or just for your own personal enjoyment.
