The Top 10 Greatest Quarterbacks of All Time

Everybody always loves to have this debate. Its an argument that will stand the test of time. Everytime someone new comes along the older quarterbacks will slowly be bumped off. Who knows what this list will look like 100 years from now? But without further ado, here is my list of the top10 quarterbacks of all time:

10) Terry Bradshaw - Might be most well known for being a commentator nowadays, but back in his playing days he just happen to have won 4 super bowls. The guy had an absolute cannon for an arm.

9) Steve Young - As gifted an athlete that has ever played the position. Always was in the shadow of Joe Montana. That quickly ended when he won his first Super Bowl.

8) Johnny Unitas - An icon of a foregone era. I believe the term "field general" was invented because of Unitas.

7) Fran Tarkenton -Sure, he never won the big one, but who cares? All you have to do is look at his stats. He was a quarterback who was way ahead of its time.

6) Joe Montana - Blessed to have an offensive genius for a coach, Montana led the 49ers as the team of the 80s and cemented his legacy with an incredible last minute drive to beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl.

5) Tom Brady - When this guy's career is over he might be number 1 on this list. He is almost exact replica of Joe Montana. He is part of an offensive system that was just made for him.

4) Peyton Manning - Not only is he an incredible quarterback, but he's also an amazing offensive coordinator. I don't think there has ever been a quarterback who understands the x's and o's of football better than Peyton Manning.

3) Brett Favre - Anybody who can play at that kind of level for that many consecutive games is nothing short of legendary. I'm a big fan of Cal Ripken but his ironman record pales in comparison to what Favre has done.

2) John Elway - No quarterback has ever played in more Super Bowls than John Elway. To put Elway's abilities in perspective, when he played the Broncos were always Super Bowl contenders. The moment he quit, the Broncos have become nothing but playoff hopefuls.

1) Dan Marino - Quite simply, the greatest pure passer to ever play the game. He never played with teams as complete as others on this list, but he threw passes that mere mortals should bot be able to pull off. With a lighting quick release, the football would be able to go through a brick wall.

TMO NFL Recap Week 14 (Jealousy by Kira Metcalf parody)

Lyrics below! Yes, I know I already wore a Steelers jersey, but I had to represent my favorite team for the 10 seconds that I'll be on Showtime's Inside the NFL! Top 2012 NFL Rookies That Will Make the Quickest Fantasy Impact

As always the NFL draft has come and gone and now its time to see which rookies will have a significant impact on fantasy football this year. At first glance the group doesn't seem as promising as usual, but if you delve a little deeper into the teams you might be surprised about the potential of this years rookie class. We've picked the top 5 rookies and even thrown a couple of sleepers in for those of you that like to take chances in the later rounds.

Julio Jones, WR - Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons traded up for Jones and for good reason, he is going to be a key piece to what is already a potent offense in Atlanta. With opposing defenses having to worry about Roddy White, Tong Gonzalez and Micheal Turner you can expect some big games out of Jones. The Alabama star is 6'4" and 200lb plus, but still has the speed to make game changing plays down the field.

Daniel Thomas, RB - Dolphins

The Dolphins have already made Thomas their starting running back for the 2011-2012 NFL season. With no other quality back on the team, you can expect him to pick up the majority of the carries. His running style fits perfectly with Miami's balanced offense, so you can expect to see some decent numbers out of Thomas. He did have nagging injuries in college but if can avoid the injury bug, you might be able to get yourself a number three back for a steal in the later rounds.

Austin Pettis, WR - Rams

Pettis was an integral part of those great Boise State teams over the past few years and should continue to be a difference maker in the very near future. The Rams were a much improved team last year without a true #1 wide receiver, so it makes sense that Pettis could develop into one of Bradford's favorite targets. Let's not forget that the Ram's play in the NFC West, which gives them 6 games against sub par teams. This fact alone potentially allows for some quality numbers throughout the season.

A.J. Green, WR - Bengals

Green is a tough pick here because no one is sure who is going to be throwing to him, with Carson Palmer more than likely done as a Bengal that leaves rookie QB Andy Dalton or Jordan Palmer. A.J. Green has the ability to be a big time receiver in the NFL but with two untested QB's throwing to him, it doesn't bode well for him. Though, if the Bengals can get any semblance of quarterback play this year, Green will be worth a good look.

Mark Ingram, RB - Saints

Ingram is another hard pick here because he will be in the mix with at least two other proven runners, Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory. He will need to show that he is substantially better than those two if he is going to get a significant amount of carries in New Orleans. On the plus side both the backs that are in front of him are very injury prone and could open the door for Ingram to be the number one guy on a proven high octane offense.

Sleepers

Shane Vereen, RB - Patriots

New England would only have one decent option at running back in Danny Woodhead if Green-Ellis leaves like expected. If Vereen's quickness and receiving skills are up to snuff, fantasy owners might see some significant numbers out of him. Then again there is always the chance the Patriots sign 3 veteran running backs and you don't see Vereen all season.

Delone Carter, RB - Colts

The Colts have decided to work on their running game this off season in order to protect Manning. Last year teams abandoned their running attack because it was simply nonexistent when they tried. By drafting an offensive line early and getting Carter in what some people consider a steal, could prove well for fantasy owners that are willing to take a chance on the rookie. With Addai looking to walk and Donald Brown not exactly putting up the numbers the Colts want, Carter is likely to see the bulk of the carries. However if Addai stays or Brown proves more consistent, he might be regulated to the 3 back, taking away any fantasy value he might have.

Best ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bats Review - Don't Buy an Illegal Bat This Season

NFL playoff 2010

Ever Wonder Why The Other Team Hits The Ball A Mile Farther Than Yours? It's got nothing to do with athletic ability. The secret is in the bat. So this season don't miss the playoffs and get the best ASA softball bats on the market for 2009. Below we have a list of the top three bats that will add instant pop to your lineup. Not only are these softball bats the best but they are all ASA legal softball bats. For a more extensive review with product links click the link to the article at the bottom of the page.

Miken Freak 98- This bat is a classic. The Miken Freak was always known as one of the best asa softball bats until the ASA put it on the banned list. Miken modified it's design and created the Miken Freak 98. This bat is durable and has a lot of pop. It generates maximum flex through the barrel and truly is one of the best bats on the market. Every team should carry a Miken Freak 98. At 224 dollars you can't beat it.

Combat Virus. This bat offers pop right out of the wrapper. If you are looking to impress the ladies with the long ball then this is the bat for you. The Endloaded Combat Virus is one of the best asa softball bats around. You can expect a healthy amount of tape measure blasts and frozen ropes with this bat. Combat moved the sweet spot down the barrel so you can miss hit the ball and still park it. That is why this is one of the best bats for the 2009 season.

Easton Stealth This bat didn't have the same amount of pop as the others but it was the most widely used bat. A lot of people on our team liked the diversity of the bat. I would pick up the other two bats because they are cheaper then this one but this is still one of the best asa softball bats of 2009.

Here is a secret. The best bats can not be found at your local sporting goods store. You can only get them online. So do not waste your money on a bunch of cheap bats. Treat your team to 2 great bats and have them thank you later. For the best pricing online check out the best asa softball bat review link at the bottom of this page.

List of Black Quarterbacks in the NFL

Before African Americans were accepted to be part of the National Football League or the NFL, they underwent arduous experience of being discriminated by the white NFL players. But the African Americans did not lose hope and before they knew it, they were slowly being accepted as part of the NFL until people have noticed a growing number of black quarterbacks in the NFL. Here is a list of some of the black quarterbacks who used to be and who are still part of the NFL.

GEORGE TALIAFERRO
George Taliaferro was born in Gates, Tennessee on January 8, 1927 and was the first African American to be drafted by a team that formed part of the NFL. It was in 1949 when George Taliaferro was drafted by the Chicago Bears. He was then a punter, quarterback, and a halfback. However, instead of playing for the Chicago Bears, George Taliaferro chose to play at the All-America Football Conference under the Los Angeles Dons team. After a year, George Taliaferro decided to join the NFL, playing for different teams including the Philadelphia Eagles in 1955, the Baltimore Colts from 1953 to 1954, the Dallas Texans in 1952, and the New York Yanks from 1950 to 1951.

FRITZ POLLARD
Born Frederick Douglass Pollard on January 27, 1894, Fritz Pollard was not only one of the first black quarterbacks to have joined the NFL, but he was also the first black head coach in the NFL. Before he joined the NFL, Fritz Pollard was a track and field athlete at Lane Tech where he graduated high school. This black quarterback then played football during college at Brown University. After college, Fritz Pollard took football as a profession, playing for the Akron Pros team which he later led to the championship in 1920. A year later, Fritz Pollard was appointed as co-head coach of Akron Pros. This black quarterback also experienced playing for other teams such as Providence Steam Roller, Gilberton Cadamounts, Hammond Pros, and Milwaukee Badgers. Fritz Pollard died on May 11, 1986.

CHARLIE BRACKINS
Charlie Brackins is another black quarterback who became part of the NFL. Born in Dallas, Texas on January 12, 1932, Charlie Brackins studied high school at the Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas and attended college at the Prairie View A&M University. Known as "Choo Choo" in the NFL, whose real name is Charles Brackins, it was in 1955 when he joined the NFL and played for the Green Bay Packers. Charlie Brackins, whose height is 6' 2" and weighs 210 lbs., stayed in the NFL for only a year and played for only one team during such professional experience.
